Congressional Advocacy

As the voice of ACOs on Capitol Hill, NAACOS is constantly advocating for policies that support and expand value-based care. NAACOS does this by maintaining relationships with Members of Congress to ensure that ACOs are represented throughout the policymaking process.

Value-based payment reforms have a long history of bipartisan support in Washington. Over the last 20 years Congress has passed legislation to encourage movement towards accountability in health care, but more needs to be done to drive long-term system transformations. NAACOS is working with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to:

  1. Extend APM Incentives & Adjust Qualifying Thresholds
  2. Support Bills to Continue Driving Innovation in Medicare
  3. Develop Long-Term Solutions to Support Value
  4. Ask CMS to Pilot New Quality Requirements Before Implementation
