In conjunction with the Fall 2024 Conference, NAACOS is offering workshops that take a deep dive into key issues facing ACOs. Registration and topics are below.

NAACOS Pre-conference workshops are held concurrently on Wednesday, October 16 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm ET. These workshops require separate registration from the main meeting. There will be three concurrent workshops for the Fall 2024 Conference.
Pre-Conference Workshop #1:
Optimizing Your Payer-Provider Engagements

Description: Providers in value-based care have been innovating care delivery across lines of business through partnerships with payers. This session will provide a forum for providers and payers to engage in solutions-focused discussions on building rapport, successful contract experiences, and collaborative partnerships. Providers and payers will have an opportunity to deep dive into the principles of value-based care contracting through panel discussions, live Q&A, and table discussions.
- Attendees will gain an understanding of the perspectives and challenges both providers and payers experience in deploying VBC programs across lines of business.
- Learn from industry experts as we explore strategies and best practices focused on strengthening provider and payer relationships.

Pre-Conference Workshop #2:
Shaping the Future: Evolving Practices in Chronic Disease Management

In this pre-conference workshop, we will delve into critical aspects of managing chronic conditions, with a specific focus on how accountable care organizations can impact health outcomes and the patient journey. We will explore how addressing health disparities is crucial in managing chronic diseases effectively. Participants will gain insights from real-world examples and learn from others to avoid common pitfalls and what strategies are effective. The discussion will highlight the power of a multidisciplinary and the benefits of a cluster-based approach to manage patients with multiple chronic conditions concurrently. This comprehensive examination aims to equip healthcare professionals with practical knowledge and collaborative strategies to improve patient outcomes in chronic disease care.

Fundamentals of ACO success

Over the past decade Commercial and Medicare ACOs have demonstrated success overall in improving care and lowering healthcare costs. This session will be organized into 3 sections:
- A discussion of common attributes of high-performing ACO’s with Rob Mechanic, Institute for Accountable Care
- A review of best practices from The Future of Value Playbook released this year by AMA, AHIP, & NAACOS summarizing key sections of Value-Based contracts – Travis Broome, Aledade and Andrea Osborne, VillageMD
- A Panel discussion of high performing ACO leaders (high performing ACO defined as >90th percentile savings and quality score >90 from 2022 MSSP public use file) – Stephen Nuckolls, Coastal Carolina Quality Care; Brandon Webb, OneHealth Nebraska ACO; Nadine Robin, Aledade Lousiana ACO
