“The National Association of ACOs (NAACOS) congratulates the 453 accountable care organizations that achieved shared savings by reducing healthcare spending while maintaining exemplary standards of patient care. Each year, the more than 600,000 clinicians nationwide that participate in the program continues to hit new benchmarks in quality and cost efficiency.
“Last year, ACO participants reduced Medicare spending by an average of 4% for nearly 11 million beneficiaries, resulting in Medicare’s largest savings to date—an impressive $5.2 billion, with $2.1 billion retained by Medicare and $3.1 billion distributed as shared savings. Beyond cost savings, these clinicians excel in delivering high-quality outcomes in critical areas, such as diabetes and blood pressure control, breast and colorectal cancer screenings, fall risk assessment, cardiovascular disease prevention, and depression screening and follow-up.
“NAACOS celebrates these achievements as testament to the impact of accountable care and the dedication of clinicians to advancing value and quality for millions of beneficiaries across the nation. We must ensure that successful providers can remain in the program by ensuring sustainable financial targets, reducing regulatory burden, and continuing incentives for clinicians to participate in ACOs and other alternative payment models.”
