NAACOS Expands Policy and Advocacy Team
Former Senate Staffer Robert Daley Provides Valuable Experience
WASHINGTON — The National Association of ACOs (NAACOS), the leading national organization representing and supporting participants in accountable care models, welcomes Robert Daley as a senior policy advisor. Daley will contribute to NAACOS’ growing policy team, helping advocate for better federal policies on both the legislative and regulatory side. He will draw on his more than a decade of experience to help manage NAACOS’ relationships with lawmakers and administration to ensure ACOs’ interests are being represented in Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining NAACOS, Daley spent five years as a legislative director at Polsinelli, a law firm representing the public policy interests of a wide range of healthcare clients, including securing favorable legislative changes on several value-based care initiatives. Before that, Daley spent six years working for Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) where he gained a thorough understanding of the legislative process and the role stakeholders play in the development and implementation of public policy. Daley’s experience as a former congressional staffer and government affairs advisor will help him effectively communicate NAACOS’ priorities directly to Congress and the administration.
Daley is a graduate of American University and a member of the Society of Health Policy Young Professionals. He is also a member of several state society organizations and continues to develop and maintain an extensive bipartisan network of contacts across Washington’s policymaking landscape.
Since its founding in 2012, NAACOS has supported organizations in accountable care models, including the Medicare Shared Savings Program, Pioneer ACO Model, Next Generation ACO Model, and more recently the Global and Professional Direct Contracting Model. NAACOS represents ACOs and direct contracting entities who collectively represent more than 12 million beneficiary lives under Medicare and commercial contracts. NAACOS and its members are deeply committed to the transition to value-based care. We are an ACO member-led and member-owned non-profit organization that works on behalf of ACOs and DCEs across the nation to improve the quality of Medicare delivery, population health and outcomes, and healthcare efficiency.
ACOs have saved Medicare $13.3 billion in gross savings and $4.7 in net savings since 2012. Importantly, data show these ACOs continued to provide high-quality care and yield satisfied patients. Today, ACOs care for nearly 20 percent of all Medicare patients and nearly a third of traditional Medicare patients.
